Melanie Taylor
Chief Executive Officer

Melanie Taylor has worked in various roles at Burke since 1986. Most recently, in 2019 she became our Chief Executive Officer. She is responsible for organizational planning, operations, budgeting, supervision, and monitoring of the organization. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation, a Master of Science degree in Business Management, and a second Master's degree from Texas A&M in Non-Profit Public Management. Mrs. Taylor is a member of the Society for Human Resource Professionals, the Mental Health Corporations of America Human Resource Consortia, and the Executive Directors Consortium of the Texas Council of Community MHMR Centers, Inc.



James Smith
Chief Clinical Officer

James P. Smith, Ed.D. started with Burke in 2002 as a service director in the child and adolescent mental health division. Since then he served as the director of mental health operations before being appointed to his current position as the Chief Clinical Officer. In this role, Dr. Smith provides program oversight for adult and children's mental health services, developmental disability programs, and early childhood intervention services. Dr. Smith holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Smith is an active member of the Texas Counseling Association where he has held several board positions.



LeeAnne Camp
Chief Financial Officer

LeeAnne Camp has worked for Burke in Financial Services since 2020. She served as an Accountant, Accounting Manager, and Director of Accounting before being appointed as Chief Financial Officer in 2024. She is responsible for the oversight and management of the accounting department including audit requirements, contracting, fleet management, grant reporting, & policies and procedures. Mrs. Camp holds both a BBA & MBA in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University.
