General Description

Burke Industries is a community-based program dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and productivity. The Director of Burke Industries oversees the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all Day Services and Vocational Services Programs. This role ensures that all policies and procedures are followed, using a person-directed approach focused on helping each consumer identify and achieve their individual goals. The Burke Industries Director oversees that all contract requirements are met and within budgetary guidelines. They will ensure that Burke Industries is fully staffed for all day services and outside contracts and will fill in as needed to guarantee completion of contract duties. The BI Director serves as the security administrator for Tulip and the administrator for site audits for Individualized Skills and Socialization, Texas Workforce Commission, WorkQuest, and other contract vendors.

Education

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services, Health Sciences, Business, or Management from an accredited college or university. 

Experience

Required: A minimum of two (2) consecutive years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Preferred: Knowledge of IDD programs such as HCS, TxHmL, GR, and ICF.

Licenses/Certifications

Required: Valid Texas driver’s license.

Special Requests or Comments

Required: Must be physically able to complete Satori Alternative to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training modules.  Must have a driving record insurable by Burke’s insurance administrator.

Physical Requirements

Required: Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged sitting, walking, bending or kneeling, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity.

Hours

Monday – Friday; Generally, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., After-hours work may be required based on consumer and contract needs. The Director of Burke Industries must remain accessible to consumers, staff, families, and outside vendors at all times.

Salary

$59,400 annually
