General Description
The YCOT Clinical Coordinator is responsible for supervision and oversight of the Youth Crisis Outreach Team (YCOT) staff. Clinical duties include leading and facilitating the treatment team; providing and facilitating emergency and mental health assessments for children, adolescents, and their families; monitoring crisis screening, assessment, and intervention services provided to urgent and emergent clientele, being available to YCOT staff for professional consultation and direction regarding screening and assessment of persons in need, and providing intensive interventions aimed at de-escalating the crisis and, whenever possible, diverting hospitalization. This position will develop and implement outreach and education primarily focused on local school districts. Outreach will also include other community partners such as law enforcement and emergency detention and departments. This position will also work closely with DFPS. Administrative duties include assisting the Crisis Program Director in a variety of areas including: the management of YCOT budget, utilization management of YCOT services, records management, and performance evaluations of YCOT staff. This position will work a forty (40) hour week with the option of flextime to monitor evening and weekend schedules, inclusive of weekend rotation coverage in support of YCOT staff, as needed. This position reports directly to the Crisis Program Director.
Education
Required: Masters in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
Experience
Required: At least three (3) years of full-time direct care experience working with persons with a mental illness in an outpatient setting. Experience must include conducting emergency mental health assessments, developing safety plans and interacting with other resources to improve treatment options for those in crisis or in a state of emerging crisis.
Preferred: One (1) year of experience supervising clinical staff in a community mental health setting. At least three (3) years supervisory experience, including budgetary responsibilities, in an adult mental health setting. Experience with Burke Center outpatient mental health services and experience with an Electronic Health Record are preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Currently working towards full licensure/certification in their respective graduate field of study (e.g., LPC Associate).
Preferred: Licensure as one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with the State of Texas.
Required: Valid Texas driver's license.
Special Requests or Comments
Required: Must be physically able to complete Satori Alternative to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training modules. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.
Physical Requirements
Required: Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 25 pounds, walking, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity.
Hours
Monday - Friday; Generally, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., After hours and weekends as required with utilization of flextime in support of YCOT staff.
Salary
Dependent upon qualifications and experience.
