About the Role
Burke is seeking a Mental Health Clinician for the Centralized Intake Unit in Lufkin, TX. This position is responsible for completing clinical assessments, determining eligibility for Burke services, and connecting individuals to appropriate behavioral health resources and community providers.

The Mental Health Clinician also conducts aftercare appointments for individuals discharged from inpatient psychiatric facilities to support successful linkage to outpatient services. Additional responsibilities include emergency assessments, select Case Management and Service Coordination functions, and maintaining documentation in compliance with Burke, Medicaid, and accreditation standards.

This position requires strong organizational skills, flexibility, self-discipline, and computer proficiency. The Mental Health Clinician is supervised by the Centralized Intake Clinical Coordinator and may require travel throughout Burke’s 12-county service region.

What You’ll Do
• Complete clinical assessments and determine eligibility for Burke services
• Conduct aftercare appointments following inpatient psychiatric discharge
• Refer individuals to appropriate community providers and resources
• Conduct emergency mental health assessments as needed
• Perform select Case Management and Service Coordination duties
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with Burke, Medicaid, and accreditation     standards
• Collaborate with treatment teams and community providers
• Support continuity of care for adult and child/adolescent populations

What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, medicine,           registered nurse, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician       assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, early       childhood intervention, or another Human Services discipline that meets QMHP requirements
• Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
• Flexibility and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Computer proficiency
• Valid Texas driver’s license

What Helps You Stand Out
• Six (6) months of full-time direct care experience working in a mental healthcare setting
• Six (6) months of direct care experience in mental health screening and assessment
• Experience conducting mental health screening and assessments with both adult and                           child/adolescent populations

Work Schedule
• Monday–Friday
• Generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Occasional after-hours work may be required to meet job responsibilities

Licenses & Certifications
• Valid Texas driver’s license required
• Must be physically able to complete SAMA, CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training modules
• Driving record must remain insurable by Burke’s insurance administrator
