General Description
The Mental Health Service Director is responsible for managing, supervising and oversight of all operations related to the allocation and administration of state funds and state service requirements for mental health services. Counties include Angelina, Houston, Trinity, Newton, and Sabine. Responsible for the supervision of clinical managers and office managers as well as the management of unit budget, management of facilities, and maintaining quality of care specific to state mandated Resiliency and Disease Management services. Also responsible for overseeing utilization management of services provided, records management, and performance evaluations for clinical staff. Will operate with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and standard Microsoft Office products. This position is based out of the Lufkin clinic and will report to the Behavioral Health Senior Program Director.
Education
Preferred: Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology or Social Work from an accredited college or university. A master’s degree in a Business-Related Field will also be considered, provided there is significant work experience combined with the degree (see Experience).
Experience
Non-Business Degree Requirements/Preferences:
Required: Minimum of one (1) year full-time experience in a health care setting.
Preferred: Two (2) years’ full-time supervisory experience in a health care setting.
Business Degree Requirements/Preferences:
Required: Three (3) years’ full-time supervisory experience in a health care setting.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, (LMFTA) or Licensed Master Social Worker. Candidates who are currently working toward their licensure with the State of Texas will be considered; however, they will be required to obtain full licensure within six (6) months of their hire date.
Required: Valid Texas driver’s license
Preferred: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the State of Texas.Required: Must be physically able to complete Satori Alternative to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training modules. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke’s insurance administrator.
Physical Requirements
Required: Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 25 pounds, walking, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity.
Hours
Monday - Friday; Generally, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
