General Description

This position provides direct occupational therapy and consultative services, as recommended by the team, to children from birth to three years old who are developmentally delayed and/or medically at risk in a community-based setting. In accordance with Texas licensure requirements, an Occupational Therapist Assistant must work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Education

Required: An associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant recognized by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).

Experience

Preferred: One (1) year experience working with birth to three (3) years and/or pre-school children.

Licenses/Certifications

Required: Licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners (TBOTE) and a current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required.

Required: Valid Texas Driver's License.

Special Requests or Comments

Required: CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and all other training required by the program. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.

Physical Requirements

Required: Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 25 pounds, walking, bending, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity.

Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Salary

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
