About the Role

Burke is seeking PRN Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to provide flexible, as-needed nursing support in an outpatient mental health setting. This role serves both adults and children across Burke's 11-county region and is part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary treatment team.

This is an excellent opportunity for licensed nurses seeking flexible hours while gaining or expanding experience in behavioral health care.

What You'll Do

  • Administer medications and injections
  • Conduct AIMS exams and nursing assessments
  • Complete medication consents and documentation in the EHR
  • Respond to client calls regarding medication concerns
  • Coordinate psychiatric assessments using telehealth equipment
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers
  • Provide patient education and support
  • Maintain medication inventory and accurate records
  • Build positive relationships with community partners and stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Texas RN or LVN license
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Ability to complete SAMA, CPR, and First Aid training
  • Insurable driving record

Preferred:

  • At least 1 year of nursing experience in a medical office or mental health setting

Work Schedule

  • PRN (as needed)
  • Hours vary, typically between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday

Compensation & Benefits

  • RN: $33.00/hour
  • LVN: $27.50/hour
  • Travel reimbursement provided where applicable

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Walking, bending, and kneeling
  • Fine motor skills for documentation and data entry
  • Visual, hearing, and verbal communication abilities
