Location: Lufkin, Texas
Position Summary
Burke is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join the Mental Health Emergency Center. This position provides nursing care to adults experiencing acute mental health crises in both the Extended Observation Unit and Crisis Residential Unit, as well as clients undergoing medical detox.
The LVN works as part of a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a 24/7 treatment environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to adult clients in crisis and detox settings
- Administer medications, including oral and injectable treatments
- Monitor and document patient health status
- Complete medication consents and maintain accurate records
- Assist with psychiatric services via telehealth
- Coordinate care with medical providers and team members
- Support detox clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as appropriate
- Track lab specimens and maintain medication inventory
- Provide patient education and documentation
Education Requirements
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas
Experience
Preferred:
- One (1) year of experience in a residential, inpatient, or acute mental health setting
Licensure and Certifications
Required:
- Active Texas LVN license
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator
- Ability to complete SAMA, CPR, First Aid, and required training
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks
- Functional vision, hearing, speech, and hand/finger dexterity
Work Schedule
- Hours and days vary based on program needs
Salary
- $27.50 per hour
