Schedule: Monday–Friday | Up to 29 hours per week

Compensation:

  • LVN: $27.50 per hour

  • RN: $33.00 per hour

Position Overview

Burke is seeking a Part-Time Nurse (LVN or RN) to provide nursing services to adult and adolescent patients in our Outpatient Mental Health Clinics. Under the direction of the Nurse Extender, this role supports medication administration, clinical assessments, and patient care coordination. Travel to satellite clinics across Burke’s 11-county service area is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer injections and complete nursing assessments

  • Obtain and document medication consents

  • Manage indigent medication programs

  • Process prescription refills and medication prior authorizations

  • Respond to patient phone inquiries

  • Operate telemedicine equipment for clinical services

  • Maintain medication inventory and documentation

  • Provide patient education related to medications and care

  • Coordinate visits with pharmaceutical representatives

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

  • Required: Licensed as a Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing

Experience

  • Preferred: At least six (6) months of experience as an LVN or RN in a medical or mental health setting

Licenses & Certifications

  • Required: Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Texas Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing

  • Required: Valid Texas driver’s license

Special Requirements

  • Ability to complete SAMA, CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training

  • Driving record must be insurable under Burke’s insurance administrator

  • Reliable transportation required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Hand and finger dexterity for documentation and clinical tasks
