Position Overview

Burke is seeking a dependable and compassionate Part-Time Residential Assistant (RA) to provide care and training for individuals living in an ICF/IDD residential group home setting in Diboll, TX.

This role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with daily living activities and helping maintain a safe, structured, and home-like environment. The RA works closely with a team of professionals to promote independence, dignity, and quality of life for residents.

Reliable transportation is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assist with daily living activities

  • Support residents in skill development and independence

  • Promote a positive, respectful, and home-like environment

  • Complete routine documentation and maintain detailed records

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the group home

  • Collaborate with team members and other professionals

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

Education (Required):

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

License (Required):

  • Valid Texas driver's license

  • Driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six (6) months of experience in a direct care role

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Additional Requirements

  • Must be physically able to complete required training courses, including but not limited to:

    • Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression (SAMA)

    • CPR

    • First Aid

    • Defensive Driving

    • Van Driving

    • Required training modules

  • Ability to complete accurate documentation and maintain detailed records

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to walk, stand, and drive regularly

  • Adequate vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills

  • Hand and finger dexterity for documentation and daily tasks
