Compensation: $12.50 per hour
Burke is seeking a Part-Time Vocational Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities in a structured vocational and community-based setting. This role focuses on daily client support, skill development, socialization training, and promoting independence in a safe and supportive environment.
The Vocational Specialist assists with daily activities, supports community integration, and works collaboratively with program staff to help clients develop vocational and life skills.
Provide daily supervision and support to program participants
Assist with skills development and socialization training
Support activities of daily living, including meal monitoring and medication administration
Promote a safe, structured, and supportive program environment
Facilitate community integration activities
Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Education
Required: High school diploma or GED
Experience
Preferred: One (1) year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Valid Texas driver's license with an insurable driving record
Ability to complete required training (SAMA, CPR/First Aid, Defensive & Van Driving, and employee training modules)
Ability to use a computer to complete documentation and maintain detailed records
Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
Ability to walk, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to drive a vehicle
Hand and finger dexterity for routine tasks and documentation
