Schedule: Monday-Friday; approximately 29 hours per week
Compensation: $12.50 per hour

Position Overview

Burke is seeking a Part-Time Vocational Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities in a structured vocational and community-based setting. This role focuses on daily client support, skill development, socialization training, and promoting independence in a safe and supportive environment.

The Vocational Specialist assists with daily activities, supports community integration, and works collaboratively with program staff to help clients develop vocational and life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and support to program participants

  • Assist with skills development and socialization training

  • Support activities of daily living, including meal monitoring and medication administration

  • Promote a safe, structured, and supportive program environment

  • Facilitate community integration activities

  • Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education
Required: High school diploma or GED

Experience
Preferred: One (1) year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Licenses & Additional Requirements

  • Valid Texas driver's license with an insurable driving record

  • Ability to complete required training (SAMA, CPR/First Aid, Defensive & Van Driving, and employee training modules)

  • Ability to use a computer to complete documentation and maintain detailed records

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively

  • Ability to walk, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to drive a vehicle

  • Hand and finger dexterity for routine tasks and documentation
