Salary: $66,560 annually
Burke is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at the Mental Health Emergency Center, a fast-paced, 24/7 crisis stabilization program. RNs in this role provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adults experiencing acute mental health needs while collaborating closely with physicians, the Nursing Clinical Coordinator, and other clinical staff.
This position involves both direct patient care and coordination of critical services that ensure safe, effective treatment.
Administer oral medications and injections
Complete admission assessments, nursing assessments, and medication consents
Answer inquiry calls regarding potential admissions
Review medical records to determine appropriateness for admission
Coordinate telehealth psychiatric assessments
Collaborate with hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers
Maintain constructive relationships with community stakeholders
Provide patient education and complete required documentation
Supervise LVN and Mental Health Specialist staff
Manage medication inventory
Participate in call rotation as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure through the Texas Board of Nursing
Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a medical or acute mental health setting
Required: Texas RN license
Required: Valid Texas driver’s license
Ability to complete SAMA, CPR, and First Aid training
Must have a driving record insurable by Burke’s insurance administrator
Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, bend, kneel, and perform fine motor tasks
