Location: Polk Mental Health Clinic - Livingston, TX

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Salary: $56,659 annually

Position Overview

Burke is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing services to clients at the Polk Mental Health Clinic. This role supports outpatient mental health services through medication administration, clinical assessments, care coordination, and patient education. The RN will work collaboratively with the clinical team and may supervise non-licensed medical support staff as assigned.

Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and track injections and laboratory work

  • Complete nursing assessments and AIMS evaluations

  • Obtain and document medication consents

  • Manage indigent medication programs

  • Process prescription refills and insurance prior authorizations

  • Respond to patient phone inquiries

  • Maintain medication inventory and documentation

  • Provide patient education related to medications and care

  • Coordinate visits with pharmaceutical representatives

  • Supervise non-licensed medical support staff as assigned

  • Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

  • Required: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing

Experience

  • Preferred: Six (6) months of experience as an RN working with individuals with mental illness in an inpatient or community setting

Licenses & Certifications

  • Required: Texas Registered Nurse license

  • Required: Valid Texas driver's license

Special Training & Skills

  • Knowledge and competency in current nursing practices across age groups

  • Working knowledge of computer systems and electronic documentation

Special Requirements

  • Ability to complete SAMA, CPR, and First Aid training

  • Driving record must be insurable under Burke's insurance administrator

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Hand and finger dexterity for clinical tasks and documentation

  • Ability to drive as required
