Position Overview
Burke is seeking a dependable and organized Support Staff member for the Nacogdoches Mental Health Clinic. This position plays a vital role in supporting clinic operations by assisting consumers, coordinating appointments, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring efficient front office workflow.
The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a medical or behavioral health environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete fee contracts and assist with fee collections
- Communicate with insurance companies and financial services regarding authorizations
- Greet consumers, visitors, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner
- Answer and manage a high-volume multi-line phone system
- Provide reception area coverage and administrative support
- Schedule and maintain appointments for physicians, therapists, and clinical staff
- Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and data entry processes
- Protect confidential information in accordance with agency policies and procedures
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Licensure:
- Valid Texas Driver's License (required)
- Driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of clerical experience in a medical or mental health setting
- Experience with billing, insurance verification, and authorizations
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with computers, calculators, and office systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Requires walking, driving, talking, hearing, and hand/finger dexterity
- Visual and auditory skills necessary for communication and data entry
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday
- Generally 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Occasional after-hours work may be required to fulfill job responsibilities
