General Description
The Burke Center is seeking a full-time or part-time, dedicated and experienced individual to serve as a Team Lead for our Crisis Counseling Program (CCP), funded through a Disaster Relief Grant to support individuals affected by disasters. This is a temporary position until July 31, 2025, or the end of the grant period. In this role, you will coordinate and provide community outreach services across 11 counties, primarily focusing on Nacogdoches, Newton, Polk, Sabine, San Jacinto, Trinity, and Tyler Counties The Team Lead will be responsible for directing affected community members to available resources, leading and coordinating a team of Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) Workers, and providing supervision, guidance, and support to team members. This position will include being the point of contact for the HHSC grant team, reporting, attending meetings, as well as attending all required training. Responsibilities also include offering support, education, and active listening to impacted individuals. The role requires working closely with local authorities and organizations to ensure seamless service delivery. Additionally, maintain accurate records of outreach, activities, prepare required reports for the Disaster Relief Grant.
Education
Preferred: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in psychology, social work, counseling, public administration, or a related field.
Experience
Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience in crisis outreach, crisis counseling or disaster relief.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Texas Driver's License
Special Requests or Comments
Required: Must be physically able to complete all required training to include Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and other training required in the training modules. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke’s insurance administrator. Reliable transportation is required.
Physical Requirements
Required: Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity.
Hours
Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
After hours as necessary and to attend meetings. Extensive travel within the 11-county area may be required.
Salary
$52,000 annually
