About the Role

Burke is seeking an Accountant to join our Financial Services team in Lufkin. The Cost Reporting & Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for the administration, preparation, and maintenance of the organization's fixed asset accounting records and state and federal cost reporting.

This position ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements, Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) requirements, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and organizational policies.

Responsibilities include maintaining capital asset records, preparing depreciation schedules, completing HHSC cost reports, supporting grant reimbursement activities, assisting with annual audits, and providing financial analysis to support organizational decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Administer, prepare, and maintain the organization's fixed asset accounting records.
  • Maintain capital asset records and prepare depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare state and federal cost reporting.
  • Complete HHSC cost reports.
  • Support grant reimbursement activities.
  • Assist with annual audits.
  • Provide financial analysis to support organizational decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB pronouncements, HHSC requirements, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and organizational policies.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.

Preferred

  • Proven ability to take initiative and be innovative.
  • Strong technology-based experience.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to complete job responsibilities.
  • Remote work will be considered.
  • Travel reimbursement is provided.
