Compensation: $43,920 - $45,355 annually, depending on qualifications and experience

About the Role

Burke is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to provide rehabilitative mental health services to adults with chronic mental illness, and potentially children/adolescents and their families, in both office and community-based settings.

The Mental Health Clinician will provide direct care services in accordance with each individual's approved recovery plan and in compliance with Burke and Medicaid standards. This position also requires emergency assessment responsibilities as needed and routine travel throughout the service area.

The ideal candidate will possess strong documentation skills, excellent time-management abilities, flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to helping individuals achieve recovery and wellness goals.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct rehabilitative mental health services in office, home, and community settings
  • Deliver services according to individualized recovery plans
  • Conduct emergency assessments as needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Support individuals and families in achieving treatment goals
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams
  • Travel throughout the assigned service area to provide care
  • Perform services in accordance with Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements
  • Participate in treatment planning and recovery-focused service delivery
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards while supporting client recovery

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, medicine, registered nurse, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, early childhood intervention, or other Human Services discipline that meets QMHP requirements, from an accredited college or university
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities

  • Professionalism, flexibility, and self-discipline
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care
  • Valid Texas driver's license

What Helps You Stand Out

  • Six (6) months of direct care experience working with adults in a behavioral healthcare or mental health setting
  • Familiarity with DSM diagnostic criteria
  • Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW)
  • Experience providing community-based mental health services
  • Knowledge of recovery-oriented behavioral health practices

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, generally
  • 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to meet job responsibilities

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Texas driver's license required
  • LBSW preferred
  • Must be physically able to complete required training, including:
    • Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA)
    • CPR
    • First Aid
    • Defensive Driving
  • Driving record must be insurable by Burke's insurance administrator
  • Reliable personal vehicle required for routine travel throughout the service area

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to drive routinely throughout the service area
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring hand and finger dexterity
