About the Role

Burke is seeking a compassionate and dependable Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the Polk Mental Health Clinic in Livingston. This position provides direct rehabilitative services to children, adolescents, and their families, with the potential to also serve adults with chronic mental illness.

Services are provided in office, community, and home settings throughout Polk, San Jacinto, and Tyler Counties. The Mental Health Clinician works according to each individual's approved recovery plan and in accordance with Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements.

This position requires strong documentation, time-management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the flexibility to provide services in a variety of settings. The Mental Health Clinician works under the supervision of the unit Clinical Coordinator.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct rehabilitative services to children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Provide services to adults with chronic mental illness as assigned.
  • Deliver services in office, community, and home-based settings.
  • Provide services according to each individual's approved and prescribed recovery plan.
  • Follow Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements for service delivery and documentation.
  • Perform emergency assessments as needed.
  • Complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals, families, and members of the treatment team.
  • Organize and manage schedules effectively to meet service and documentation requirements.
  • Travel routinely throughout Polk, San Jacinto, and Tyler Counties to provide services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation, or another Human Services discipline that meets Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) requirements from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain flexibility in a community-based service environment.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for routine travel throughout the service area.
  • Ability to successfully complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training.

Preferred

  • Six (6) months of direct care experience working with children or adolescents in a behavioral healthcare or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent growth and development.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health diagnostic criteria.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday; Generally, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to complete job responsibilities.
  • Routine travel throughout Polk, San Jacinto, and Tyler Counties is required.
  • Travel reimbursement is provided.

Physical Requirements

  • Visual, auditory, and verbal communication abilities sufficient to perform job responsibilities.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to routinely drive a vehicle throughout the service area.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Hand and finger dexterity sufficient to perform required job duties and operate necessary equipment.
