About the Role

Burke is seeking a compassionate and dependable Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the Polk Mental Health Clinic in Livingston. This position provides direct rehabilitative services to children, adolescents, and their families, with the potential to also serve adults with chronic mental illness.

Services are provided in office, community, and home settings for individuals residing in Tyler County. The Mental Health Clinician provides services according to everyone's approved recovery plan and in accordance with Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements.

This position requires strong documentation, time-management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the flexibility to provide services in a variety of settings. The Mental Health Clinician works under the supervision of the unit Clinical Coordinator. Routine travel, including travel to remote areas, is required.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct rehabilitative services to children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Provide services to adults with chronic mental illness as assigned.
  • Deliver services in office, community, and home-based settings.
  • Provide services according to everyone's approved and prescribed recovery plan.
  • Follow Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements for service delivery and documentation.
  • Perform emergency assessments as needed.
  • Complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals, families, and members of the treatment team.
  • Organize and manage schedules effectively to meet service and documentation requirements.
  • Travel routinely throughout Tyler County and the service area to provide services.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Medicine, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Sociology, Human Growth and Development, Physician Assistant Studies, Gerontology, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Intervention, or another Human Services discipline that meets Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) requirements.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain flexibility in a community-based service environment.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for routine travel throughout the service area.
  • Ability to successfully complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training.

Preferred

  • Six (6) months of direct care experience working with children and adolescents in a behavioral healthcare or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health diagnostic criteria.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to complete job responsibilities.
  • Routine travel throughout the service area is required.

  • Hand and finger dexterity is sufficient to perform required job duties and operate necessary equipment.
