About the Role

The Mental Health Clinician provides mental health skills and support services to children, adolescents, and their families throughout the service area. This position provides case management, skills training, and other services in accordance with each individual's approved and prescribed treatment plan.

Services are provided in accordance with Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements. The Mental Health Clinician may also conduct emergency assessments as warranted.

This position requires proficient and timely documentation, self-discipline, flexibility, and strong organizational skills. Routine travel throughout the service area is required.

What You'll Do

• Provide mental health skills and support services to children, adolescents, and their families.
• Provide case management and skills training in accordance with each individual's approved treatment plan.
• Provide services in accordance with Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements.
• Conduct emergency assessments as warranted.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
• Work collaboratively with children, adolescents, families, and other members of the treatment team.
• Demonstrate flexibility, self-discipline, and strong organizational skills in managing job responsibilities.
• Travel routinely throughout the service area to provide services.

What You Need

Required

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Medicine, Nursing, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Sociology, Human Growth and Development, Physician Assistant Studies, Gerontology, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Intervention, or another Human Services discipline that meets Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) requirements.
• Valid Texas driver's license.
• Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
• Reliable personal vehicle for routine travel throughout the service area.
• Ability to successfully complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training.

Preferred

• Six (6) months of direct care experience working with children or adolescents in a behavioral healthcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent growth and development.
• Familiarity with behavioral health diagnostic criteria.
• Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW).

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• Generally, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Occasional after-hours work may be required to complete job responsibilities.
• Routine travel throughout the service area is required.
• Travel reimbursement is provided.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to drive and travel throughout the service area.
• Hand and finger dexterity sufficient to perform required job duties.
