Location: Angelina Mental Health Clinic - Lufkin, TX

Compensation: $42,120 - $43,555 annually, depending on qualifications and experience
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; occasional after-hours work may be required

About the Role

The Mental Health Clinician provides direct care rehabilitative services to adults with chronic mental illness and may also provide services to children, adolescents, and their families. Services are provided in office, community, and home settings according to each individual's approved rehabilitation plan and Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements.

This position may also perform emergency assessments as needed and requires strong documentation, time management, flexibility, and organizational skills. Services are provided throughout Angelina, Trinity, Sabine, Newton, and Houston counties under the supervision of the unit Clinical Coordinator. Routine travel, including travel to remote areas, is required.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct care rehabilitative services to adults with chronic mental illness.
  • Provide services to children, adolescents, and their families as assigned.
  • Deliver services in office, community, and home settings.
  • Provide services according to each individual's approved rehabilitation plan and Burke and Medicaid standards and requirements.
  • Perform emergency assessments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
  • Manage responsibilities effectively through strong organization, flexibility, and time-management skills.
  • Travel routinely throughout the service area, including remote locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Need

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and ability to travel routinely throughout the service area.
  • Ability to successfully complete Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving training.

Preferred

  • Six (6) months of direct care experience working with adults in a behavioral healthcare or mental health setting.
  • Familiarity with behavioral health diagnostic criteria.
  • Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW).

Physical Requirements

This position requires sight, hearing, talking, prolonged standing, walking, driving a vehicle, and sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform job duties. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
