Part - Time Residential Assistant

Location: Home and Community Based Services - Lufkin, TX

Compensation: $15.00 per hour

About the Role
Burke is seeking a Part-Time Residential Assistant (RA) to provide 1:1 care and support for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Cherry ALU, a residential group home setting. This role focuses on ensuring the individual's safety and well-being while maintaining a safe, structured, and home-like environment. Scheduled hours and/or days may be adjusted or reduced based on program or individual support needs.

What You'll Do
- Provide 1:1 supervision and support to ensure the individual's health, safety, and well-being
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, personal hygiene, medication administration and meal-related support
- Accompany and support the individual during ISS services and community activities
- Monitor behaviors and provide appropriate interventions and redirection as needed
- Support the implementation of active treatment programs and individualized service plans
- Complete required documentation, including activity notes, progress notes, incident reports, and medication records
- Support the development of life skills, independence, and community integration
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of quality care and residential operations

What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and detailed records
- Dependability and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Valid Texas driver's license

- Six (6) months of experience working with individuals in a direct care role
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Work Schedule
- Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
- 11:30 PM - 9:300 AM
- Scheduled hours and/or days may be adjusted or reduced based on program or individual support needs

Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Texas driver's license required
- Must be physically able to complete required training courses including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and other required training modules
- Driving record must be insurable by Burke's insurance administrator

Physical Requirements
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk and drive as needed
- Ability to perform tasks requiring hand and finger dexterity
