Part - Time Residential Assistant

Location: Newton Group Home (Oleta) - Lufkin, TX

Compensation: $13.80 per hour
Work Schedule: Part-time; hours and days will vary based on need

About the Role

The Part-Time Residential Assistant (RA) provides guidance and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in a residential setting. This position supports individuals with day-to-day living activities, provides active treatment training, and helps maintain a safe, positive, and home-like environment.

The Residential Assistant works closely with other professionals to support individual needs and is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean group home environment in accordance with Life Safety and Health standards.

What You'll Do

  • Provide guidance, supervision, and support with day-to-day living activities.
  • Provide active treatment training as scheduled.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and home-like environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the group home.
  • Complete daily documentation, including active treatment data, activity notes, medication inventory records, and progress reports.
  • Complete additional documentation as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals supporting individuals in the home.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Need

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete required training, including Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and required training modules.

Preferred

  • Six (6) months of experience working with individuals in a direct care role.

Physical Requirements

This position requires sight, hearing, talking, walking, driving a vehicle, and sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform job duties. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
