About the Role
Burke is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Night Shift at the Mental Health Emergency Center in Lufkin, TX. This position is part of a multidisciplinary treatment team providing nursing care services to acutely mentally ill adult residents in a 24-hour emergency psychiatric setting.

Under the clinical direction of a physician and Nursing Clinical Coordinator, the Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care, coordinates emergency healthcare needs, assists with psychiatric admissions, and supports continuity of care for individuals experiencing mental health crises.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, organization, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced behavioral health environment.

What You'll Do
- Administer oral medications and injections
- Complete admission and nursing assessments
- Obtain medication consents and maintain medication records
- Take inquiry calls regarding potential admissions
- Review medical records to determine appropriateness for admission
- Coordinate psychiatric assessments utilizing telehealth equipment
- Coordinate emergency healthcare needs with medical providers
- Maintain medication inventory and documentation
- Provide patient education and support
- Supervise LVN staff and Mental Health Specialist staff
- Maintain positive working relationships with community stakeholders
- Complete additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
- Six (6) months experience as a licensed RN working in a medical or mental health setting
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary treatment environment
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Valid Texas driver's license

Work Schedule
- 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- 5/2 rotation schedule
- Every other weekend off
- May be required to work holidays on a rotating basis

Licenses & Certifications
- Texas license as a Registered Nurse required
- Valid Texas driver's license required
- Must be physically able to complete SAMA, CPR, and First Aid training modules
- Driving record must be insurable by Burke's insurance administrator

Physical Requirements
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk, bend, and kneel as needed
- Fine motor skills required for legible handwriting and typing
