Residential Assistant

Location: Oleta Group Home - Lufkin, TX

Compensation: $30,850 annually
Work Schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off with rotating days off; 3 night shifts: 10:30 p.m. - 8:30 a.m.; 2 evening shifts: 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

About the Role

The Residential Assistant (RA) provides care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. This position helps create a safe, structured, and home-like environment while supporting individuals with daily living activities, skill development, and increased independence.

The Residential Assistant works closely with individuals and interdisciplinary team members to provide consistent, dependable support and ensure a safe and positive living environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide supervision and support with daily living activities.
  • Deliver active treatment services as scheduled.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and home-like environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the home.
  • Complete required daily documentation, including activity notes, progress notes, and medication inventory.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Assist individuals in developing independence and daily living skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Need

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
  • Dependability and ability to work the required evening and night shift schedule.

Preferred

  • Six (6) months of experience in a direct care role.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Strong interest in supporting individuals in developing independence and life skills.

Work Schedule

This position works five shifts per week with rotating days off:

  • 3 night shifts: 10:30 p.m. - 8:30 a.m.
  • 2 evening shifts: 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
