About the Role
Burke is seeking a dependable and organized Support Staff team member to join our Nacogdoches Mental Health Clinic. This position serves as an important point of contact for individuals receiving services, visitors, and Burke staff while providing essential administrative support to the clinic.
The Support Staff position is responsible for answering phones, assisting with requests for Burke services, maintaining confidential information and records, performing data entry, processing and scanning documents, and supporting the day-to-day administrative needs of the clinic. This position works under the direct supervision of the Administrative Manager.
What You'll Do
- Greet and assist individuals receiving services, visitors, and Burke staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer multi-line phones, direct calls to appropriate staff, and assist with requests for Burke services.
- Demonstrate professional telephone etiquette and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain confidential information and records in accordance with Burke policies and procedures.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry.
- Maintain, process, organize, and scan records and documentation.
- Assist with managing office supplies, equipment, and vehicles.
- Support the supervisor with data gathering and completion of reports.
- Maintain effective working relationships with individuals receiving services and staff.
- Perform additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) consecutive year of responsible general office experience.
- Receptionist and customer service skills.
- Computer skills and the ability to perform routine data entry and administrative functions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
Preferred
- Two (2) or more consecutive years of receptionist or general office experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- College coursework in a Human Services-related field.
- Six (6) months of clerical experience in a medical and/or mental health setting.
- Experience with medication management and medical terminology.
- Bilingual skills.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday
- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Physical Requirements
- Visual and auditory abilities sufficient to interact effectively with individuals receiving services and staff.
- Ability to type efficiently and use a computer and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds when carrying records, supplies, or equipment.
- Fine motor skills sufficient for legible writing and completion of administrative duties.
