Compensation: $28,329 annually
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

About the Role

The Support Staff position provides administrative and operational support to the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT). This position interacts daily with the public, law enforcement, Burke staff, individuals receiving services, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities include answering and directing calls, processing records requests and invoices, maintaining supplies, equipment, and vehicles, organizing records and surveys, coordinating mail flow, and serving as the facility safety officer. This position works closely with clinical and support staff at MHEC and reports directly to the MCOT Clinical Coordinator.

What You'll Do

  • Answer a multiline phone and efficiently direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Process records requests.
  • Maintain inventory and purchase supplies to ensure essential materials are available.
  • Assist with the maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
  • Process invoices.
  • Serve as the facility safety officer.
  • Maintain and organize monthly call records and client surveys.
  • Serve as a back-up for other MHEC support staff.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with individuals receiving services and outside agencies.
  • Work closely with clinical and support staff at MHEC to help ensure clinical standards are met.

What You Need

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) consecutive year of responsible clerical experience with good receptionist skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of word processing and database software programs.
  • Good typing skills.
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • Valid Texas driver's license.
  • Driving record that meets Burke's insurance requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete required training, including Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving.

Preferred

  • Two (2) or more consecutive years of receptionist or office experience, including experience with a multiline phone.
  • Experience working in a mental health or medical setting.
  • Office management experience.

Physical Requirements

This position requires visual and auditory skills sufficient to perform telephone, receptionist, and transcription duties. Must have the mobility to bend and reach, lift up to 50 pounds while carrying charts and equipment, and sit or stand for prolonged periods. Fine motor skills sufficient for legible handwriting and typing are also required.
