General Description
This position provides mental health and substance abuse therapy, case management, skills and support services to assist eligible individuals (15 years of age to 30 years of age at STEP admission) in gaining community integration, increase community tenure and maintain the individual's quality of life. This includes, but is not limited to, individual/family/group therapy, training designed to address the illness or symptom-related problems and behaviors, which preclude a person's functioning in living, learning, and working environments within a natural setting whenever possible. Required activities include interfacing with the client, family members, and treatment team for the purpose of identifying therapeutic needs. Therapy services, skills training, medication education and training, psychosocial rehabilitation, and case management services may be provided in the office and community locations. Completes documentation in a professional and timely manner. Duties also will include assessment, referral, and intensive coordination of care. Self-discipline, flexibility, and organizational skills are a must. Traveling primarily within the Burke service area is required primarily utilizing program assigned vehicles and performs under the supervision of the STEP/CSC Clinical Coordinator.
Education
Required: Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
Experience
Preferred: Two (2) year’s direct care experience working with adolescents and adults in a behavioral healthcare or mental health setting. Familiarity with current DSM diagnostic criteria and substance abuse services.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Licensed Professional Counselor
Associate (LPC-A), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) or
Licensed Master Social Worker currently working towards their LCSW, with the
State of Texas. Individuals waiting to
apply for licensure based on acquiring supervision will also be
considered.
Required: Valid Texas driver's license
Preferred: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the State of Texas.
Special Requests or Comments
Required: Must be physically able to complete Satori Alternative to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training modules. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.
Hours
Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. After hours as necessary.
Salary
$50,074 annually if working towards licensure; $61,285 annually if fully licensed.
