PRN Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse

Location: Polk Mental Health Clinic - Livingston, TX

Schedule: PRN / As Needed; hours and days vary based on need, typically Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Compensation:

- RN: $33.00 per hour

- LVN: $27.50 per hour

- Travel reimbursement provided where applicable

Position Overview

Burke is seeking PRN Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) to provide nursing services in an outpatient mental health clinic setting. This position serves mentally ill adults and children across Burke's 11-county service region and functions as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Under the clinical direction of a physician and the Director of Nursing or Registered Nurse, the PRN RN/LVN supports psychiatric and medical services while delivering high-quality, person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer injections and medications as ordered

- Conduct AIMS examinations and complete nursing assessments

- Complete medication consents and clinical documentation

- Respond to client calls regarding medication concerns

- Enter and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)

- Coordinate psychiatric assessments using telehealth equipment

- Collaborate with external healthcare providers regarding client care

- Provide patient education and support

- Maintain medication inventory

- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Licenses & Certifications

- Required: Texas license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

- Required: Valid Texas driver's license

- Applicants must have a driving record that is insurable by Burke's insurance administrator

Experience

- Preferred: One (1) year of experience as a licensed RN or LVN in a medical office or mental health setting

Physical Requirements

- Use visual and auditory skills to assess and monitor clients

- Walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.

- Perform fine motor tasks such as handwriting and typing

- Must be physically able to complete SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression), CPR, and First Aid training
