General Description

Burke is seeking a full-time, dedicated, and experienced individual to serve as a Team Lead Outreach Worker for our Crisis Counseling Program (CCP), funded through a Disaster Relief Grant to support individuals affected by disasters. This is a temporary position for 18 months. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver crisis counseling services across 11 counties, primarily focusing on San Jacinto, Newton, Trinity, and Tyler Counties. The Team Lead will be responsible for leading and coordinating a team of CCP Crisis Counseling Specialists and/or CCP Workers, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and providing supervision, guidance, and support to team members. Responsibilities also include offering direct crisis counseling when needed, assisting specialists in delivering effective counseling, support, education, and active listening to impacted individuals. The role requires working closely with local authorities and organizations to ensure seamless service delivery. Additionally, maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and activities and prepare required reports for the Disaster Relief Grant.

Education

Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.

Experience

Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience in crisis counseling or disaster relief.

Licenses/Certifications

Preferred: LPA, LPC, or LCSW

Required: Texas Driver's License

Special Requests or Comments

Required: Must be physically able to complete all required training to include Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and other training required in the training modules. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator. Reliable transportation is required.

Physical Requirements

Required: Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity.

Hours

Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

After hours as necessary and to attend meetings. Extensive travel within the 12-county area may be required.

Salary

$45,000 - $52,000 annually; depending on education and licensure experience.

Duration

The new position is supported by an 18-month grant.
